Jess Semaan, M.B.A, M.A.

Associate Marriage & Family Therapist
Jess Semaan (M.B.A, M.A.) is an Associate Marriage & Family therapist, offering trauma-responsive psychotherapy, psychedelic integration, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for adults, couples, families and groups. With a curious, warm, and nurturing approach, Jess is also known for her practical and direct style.

Her passion lies in supporting first-generation and immigrant individuals navigating relationship challenges, questions of belonging and complex trauma. Jess also specializes in supporting LGBTQ+ couples, families and communities of color.

Drawing from her extensive training in modalities such as Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (Polaris Insight Center), MDMA-Assisted Therapy (MAPS), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Jungian dreamwork, and expressive arts therapy, Jess' approach is dynamic, intuitive and attuned to where the client is at. Her work is deeply rooted in an anti-racist and decolonial framework, and is nervous-system and somatically oriented.

Jess identifies as an immigrant, SWANA (Southwest Asian and North African), queer, and an artist. In addition to her clinical work, Jess leads therapy groups at UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, Stanford as well as her own, and researches and speaks on the psychology of war and displacement. Outside of work, Jess finds joy in lifting weights, writing poetry, and cooking her grandma's recipes.
